They sell your information to salespeople who are trying to get you spend money you don't have. If you had money, you probably wouldn't be looking for a job. I never answer the phone now and wait for someone to leave a message. Next time you sign up for a job-search website, sign up for Google Voice first, which offers a kind of dummy number. It is actually a service that helps you to forward all of your calls to whatever phone or answering service you like. It's free and you can have it NOT forward calls to your real phone but transcribe messages for you in Gmail or the caller can leave a message on that line .... which of course, they won't if they are salespeople. I just found out about this service today and it should just be a matter of time before the annoying calls stop. I already have 3 degrees and I need a job! I need a job to pay off student loans you idiots!
Calls, and doesn't leave a message. When I called back, reads off of a script and tells me that I might be able to get help finding schooling. I have never asked to be signed up for said calls, and I told him to take me off his call list and never call me again. He said thank you and he hung up, lol.

I've gotten the same call from this number and MANY different numbers. 'Hi my name is ___ I'm with the counseling advisor' or something like that then 'can you hear me okay?.... You've made a recent inquiry.' And then something like if I wanted to go to college what would I study.
I finally answered this call and there was no one there. I called back and was told I signed up for information on furthering my education. I replied, no, I am about to retire and the man was offended. I told him his calls are unwanted and not to call me again. That was last week. Today, it's like I never said anything.
