Got call saying I was being sued by IRS, and to call back on 253-843-6325 to get details about my "case file". Left no name. Terrified, I called the number back and got a fast busy signal. Then realized that it must be a hoax and found out that IRS never contacts people via voice mail, only certified snail mail. I'm in the greater Washington D.C. area.
It's the other IRS. That's the "India runs scams" IRS. The law suit is of questionable quality. See if it has 2 pair of pants. If he knee's the coat sleeves to loosen the fit, don't buy it.
I got the same automated call, called them back because I'm in a bad mood anyway and wanted to argue with somebody; it was busy, and when someone answered I asked who it was. She said the IRS and that I had a file against me. I said 'ok, then tell me who am I? What's my name?' They hung up, of course.
Same old BS recorded message that the IRS is filing a lawsuit etc etc...Received the exact same message earlier in the day from 509-563-4347...they say it's my "final Notice" LOL
