Someone from this number called me at 8:43 am Sunday morning - he identified himself (he had a heavy accent) as calling from the Marriott Hotel. I am a senior who never travels so I am regarding this as a telemarketing call. My number is listed on the do not call registry so go figure.
This person called me on my cell phone (very heavy accent) and said I won a free trip. He asked a few general questions regarding my age, marital status and household income and said his senior manager would be calling me back to give me details on how to claim the trip. He never called back and when I tried to call it is just busy.
Called me at about noon, said "Hello, my name is Sam" but in a very heavy Indian accent. Asked if I remembered filling out a form to win a vacation. I told him 'no' and that I would never use the number he called on for that purpose. He said "Okay, bye" and hung up.
He called a cellphone that I use only for personal business. Although cellphone number are already restricted from getting calls like this, I've listed my number on the Do Not Call registry as well so they are ignoring BOTH lists.
Received a call that went to voice mail at 4:22pm local time on July 18, 2016. Apparently it was auto-dialed because the caller did not hear my voice mail message and said hello, hello, several times. Sound of static in the background made this seem like an overseas call.
Could not understand through Indian accent, but he was asking if I remembered filling out an application for something (I have not filled out applications for anything recently). He hung up when I started to question aggressively about why he was calling.
