Called claiming to represent Windows and wanted my computer information. Claimed we had visited some insecure sites. After I asked him to place my number on a "do-not-call:" list, he called me a mother f*$#@er.
Called claiming to represent Windows and wanted my computer information. Claimed we had visited some insecure sites. After I asked him to place my number on a "do-not-call:" list, he called me a mother f*$#@er.
I played dumb. He attempted a social engineering attack, to try trick me into changing my network settings (to try root my system.) I asked what the problem was and what he wanted to sell me. He then put his supervisor on, who then made a weak argument that the police were going to come arrest me if I didn't comply. I got bored, told them not to call back, and hung up.
Sad thing is, there are probably some old people who are going to fall for their scam.
