got a call from 254123568 speaking to someone from a call centre in India.  I can't recall the company name, but the operator was ringing our home telephone number to tell me that there were anomalies reported on 'our' computer which uses microsoft windows.  I asked him where he got my information from (i.e. my tel no.) He replied that he is unable to disclose the source of this information.  He then tried to get to put my computer on while persistently saying that there were problems reported on my windows system as he believed that some may have hacked into my computer and it may have been the result of some of my downloads.  I then asked him how did he know I was using windows... was it because 95% of PC's presumably ran MS Windows or may be he's a techno-psychic... (if not it means that his company would have somehow accessed or hacked into my computer by appropriating my IP address... or in this instance they were trying to get me to connect to a website where they could sneak in via a trojan horse in order to do just that)

The operator went silent and hung up on me.
