This is a scam. They called me twice. I reported them online to IRS.gov because there are no live people to talk to. The IRS message mailbox is full. When I tried to call this number to tell them I didn't want to be contacted and that I reported them, the number did not work.
254-213-8037 & CID shows TEXAS. We didn't answer & they left no message. A little later we get a call & nothing shown on CID, so I picked it up. Pre-recorded, computer voice says to avoid penalties from the IRS, to call 254-213-8037. Yeah, I'll get right on that!! I'd think that IRS has told us all enough that they NEVER call! They contact you thru the snail mail ONLY.
