Just got the IRS "We're suing you" call again for the sixth time. Can't someone do something about this. Annoying as I don't know what. I work for the federal government and walked over to legal counsel and they could not speak to them. It had to be between us, hush hush, and if I sent them money they would solve all my problems. So now I blocked their number and constantly call theirs telling them that I'm an accident lawyer and can resolve their recent law suit for a small money order. Really, someone needs to shut these lines down. Happened multiple times last year and here we go again.
I actually got a call from 218-595-4572 claiming that the internal revenue SERVICES (plural) is suing me. While I did not answer, that was the voicemail: No addressing me personally and apparently the IRS has gone from audits to lawsuits. Freaked me out until I stopped and thought about it for a minute. I screwed up a tax form years ago and they never called just sent me a letter. I mailed a check and that was the end of it.
So funny, I thought I was reading the message I posted. We have had the same reaction. Fear first because we have had dealings with audits and then started picking up on the same clues you did. The pluralization of IRS. They didnt mention our names or case # , and how we normally get letters from the IRS. So sad that they want to steal from hard working honest people.
Received call from this phone#. They left message as IRS is suing us. Leaving no names or case# just to call back! Very stress full to listen to message!
Got same msg and googled the number. This is a scam. Never give any info. IRS always mail any dispute with a client. If truly from IRS, a letter will follow or kindly call the IRS and ask questions.
