I got a scam from some one saying that he works with the cort because some one tring to take me to cort for old depet i dint lnow about it and give me 844 number with a case number for a colection agincey all its need my cridet number

Do not give this information to someone who cold calls you. Neither phone, fax or email are legal proof of debt owed. Your also entitled to a free credit report from each of the credit reporting bureaus once a year.  You should probably check it to be sure nothing has been placed there that should not be and place a alert on your credit and bank accounts just in case.
