The IRS does not make phone calls, to start collections
The IRS does not even call to tell you that they received your payment, but that you didn't file a form telling them that you paid your taxes.
Since they don't make phone calls, they certainly don't phone you, to tell you that they have issued a warrant for your arrest.
If the IRS wants to make a point, they show up personally, unannounced, or they send you a notice by mail.
The IRS doesn't send out warrants for your arrest - or initially they don't, anyway; Federal Law gives them a bunch of alternatives, long before anyone goes to court.
I received a call from this number about a week ago. The caller said "unknown name". If the IRS initiated contacts with a phone call, which they don't, they would certainly know who they are, and the caller ID would not say "unknown name".
They just called. Caller ID just shows the number, nothing else. They left no message. My greeting informs callers that they will be blocked if they don't leave a message. Blocked.
I receive 3-4 calls a day from 254-577-3047 in Copperas Cove, TX. It is VERY annoying. I have tried to answer it and say stop calling but it is an automated number.
