Received call from same number on 1/5 to my cell phone. Provided name and Company in my greeting but got the wrong number response from the young girl.
Reported issue to cell service provided and asked to escalate to fraud department. Also reported issue on the FTC do not call registry, and reported it to the FTC as a potential identity theft threat. Addresses provided below.
I encourage everyone to report these calls in a similar matter to ensure that our identities are protected and the authorities understand the nature of these calls.
256-000-0000 i'm in michigan too, south east michigan. i just called this number back after i got the call on my cell. a recording said 'the service you are attempting to use has been restricted or is unavailable, contact customer service'. but who's customer service is it talking about? very strange. irritating too!!!
just a thought, this is so frustrating that i have gotten this call more than once. i would have answered if i hadn't been busy. maybe if someone reads this and gets the call again, see if you can get the person to not hang up and get some info out of them. this is harassment! i get 'spam' texts (not from this #) on my cell all the time too which charges me $.25 for each one!!
