I just recieved a call from this number (256-206-9292) and the caller hesitated before asking if I was there. I said this is he and then the caller hung up. The caller ID said it was Ryan Weese. I tried calling back several times and got fast busy signals every time. I bet that Zotter is correct that it may be a scoutting call for valid phone numbers. I am also concerned it could be scouting for identity theft.
Just received a call from Caller ID name Ryan Weese. Guy on the other end said his name was Steve and inquired whether or not I had heard of the "quad - window.....something or other. I asked again who this was and why was he calling. Again Steve, and he's trying to inform the public about the....(whatever - I can't recall exactly) Asked why the name Ryan Weese was coming up on caller ID and he responded "probably because I'm using his computer". I told him to not call my number again and hung up.
Same info as many above, except... It was a female caller, and she knew my name. I said yes, that was me. Asked if I could hear her and then she immediately hung up.
Free magazine re-ups frequently start that way, but I think this is more devious.... Info tracking? ID theft?
