Rcvd call requesting "donation" of $100 for 4 Lee Greenwood concert tickets from this number claimning to be Madison Fire Fighters Assoc. Always suscispicous I told them just to mail info (they already had my address). They mailed "tickets" and a bill for $100. I had checked with Madison Fire Dept. They knew nothing of this. Checked BBB who lists them as a "telemarketing" company and report states they have refused to cooperate with BBB info gathering. Then saw similar and identical calls on this site from a diff but very similar phone number. Certainly scamming in my opinion. They have 3 aliases listed on BBB site also. Beware!

Just had the same phone call, Madison Fire Fighters with Lee Greenwood tickets. I do not live in that town and I asked for phone number and got two one being 256-261-1370 and he said 990-2960 no area code given..Bogus,,FRAUD and total scammers...Beware...
256 261 1370 is the mainline for the North Alabama Professional Fire Fighters Association (Www.napffa.com). They are over all of N. Alabama's PROFESSIONAL fire fighters. They raise money for programs the fire fighters do in their OFF time that grants doesnt cover, such as the mobile fire safety house that goes to the schools and teaches kids how to escape from a fire safely, purchase AEDs to put in public places, smoke detectors for elderly/less fortunate, etc. Their four main areas are huntsville, madison, decatur and florence, with each area over other outlying areas. If they had an office for each area they would have to pay overhead and defeat the purpose of raising money. Each check you write is made directly to the fire fighters so your money stays local. I wish you would call or visit locations before you start making assumptions about legitimate non profit organizations. Each area is registered with the state of alabama as required by law and will provide you with their W9 if requested... oh and not being affiliated with the BBB just means they didnt submit their tax information to the BBB. You can call the Von Braun center and they will tell you that the fire fighters hold 2 concerts a year for these programs and have been doing so for almost 10 years.... as for the calls, they purchase your phone numbers and use an automated dialer system like a lot of companies do. They use different phone numbers, and thats why when you call them back the lines dead or busy. The Presidents of each association are fire captains/cheifs that will be more than willing to talk to you about it. When you actually put a little research into a company and dont rely on assumptions or stupid GOOGLE, you'd be surprised what you can learn in 10 minutes time. I hate to think of all the business the fire fighters lost for their LEGITIMATE programs because people want to post ASSUMPTIONS.
That being said, you probably got a new salesperson who thought it was okay to send information out instead of sale. They are a non profit like the Girl Scouts and sell a good to raise money. They normally do not send out sales unless you give them a verbal agreement to do so. But the manager from back then has been replaced and is more than willing to talk to you. I should know, i took the time to research and see for myself!
