Receive these calls at least once a day. Normally I ignore it, but today I decided i was going to f**k with them, so I pressed "1" to speak with a representative. When the call went through, I received another recording that I was number twenty in line to speak with a representative. Really? There were 19 people ahead of me stupid enough to fall for this scam? Wake up people!!!
Don't believe the DO-NOT-CALL list does any good. I've reported this scam several times and the calls keep coming. Needless to say, I have given up reporting any of these scams.
I have documented over 600 attempts from more than 60 different numbers over the past eighteen months. Seems like the government National Do Not Call Registry managed by the FTC is useless.
These calls have nothing to do with the do not call list. Thats there for legitimate telemarketers to follow. These are criminals calling us...why would they bother consulting the do not call list before they tried to rip us off? Legitimate telemarketers dont spoof the number they are calling from, criminals do.
Talk to your phone service provider about these calls. Mine lets me have 31 blocked numbers. About every 3-4 months it gets full and I have to delete them all and start over. Between the CC rate lowering and the "I am calling from windows" scammers I get a few new numbers every week.
If your up for it waste some of their time.
For well over the hundreth time in the last couple of years, I just got my "last chance to lower my credit card rates". (Likely to zero after they ruin my credit, as I would then have no credit cards?)
Vermin like this deserve all of the negative karma they will get.
I get called by this number daily. I have requested to be taken off the list regularly and have been cursed at and well as heard some racist remarks. It is a scam. They tell you there is an issue with your credit card, and the don't even know if you have a credit car. What can I do to block their call.
