Phone scammer saying I better call or they will sue me.
'This is from IRS .. The reason for this call is to inform you that the irs has filed a lawsuit against you."
I received a call from this number. As I had a smidgen of time to play, I answered. It was my favorite Officer John Smith from the Treasury Department of the Tax Fraud Section of the IRS. How very original. Since I was using my secret 007 shoe phone and not the phone he called me on, he had absolutely no idea who I was. But does that ever matter? I gave him a fake name and fake address that I took from an online address generator. How efficient Officer Smith was. He had my file within seconds. I played along with the entire script, which revealed I owed $4321.32. Once I demonstrated that I could get it from my bank, he became very friendly. I, of course, was to keep my phone connected to his phone while I went and retrieved the money and then he would tell me the IRS secret code I needed to pay it. To bad I did not have my favorite decoder ring on. I told him there was a small problem. I was still in bed. He asked how long it would take me to get to the bank. I said that it would take at least an hour to get ready and get there. He actually stayed on the line. I turned on the shower for ten minutes and left the phone next to it, I ran my electric toothbrush, I turned on my blow dryer, I fed the dog and my kitten, I dressed and I did all this while he was listening. I picked up the phone and asked if he was still there and he was. Meanwhile, I had blocked this number and the number originally called. I also turned on a soundboard on my computer. I used it to make amusing noises to fake shutting the front door, walking to my car, starting my car but then he asked me to honk my horn because he was becoming suspicious. I honked my fake horn which made him feel that he had an actual idiot on the hook. I told him the phone was on the seat. I used the soundboard to make traffic noise, police cars, the radio playing and pulling into the bank. He instructed me to go inside and get the money. I faked myself getting out of the car, slamming the door, walking across the parking lot and entering the bank. I told him the bank was very busy and I had to stand in line. He said okay okay okay just get the money. I played office noises, people talking, me talking to other people and then OH NO!!!! The bank was invaded by robbers! They were screaming to get on the floor and guns were going off. I told him the bank was being robbed! What should I do? He said just get the money. What a gentleman. After playing a few more screams and screaming myself at a robber who was trying to take my phone, I made it sound as if I had dropped it on the floor and I hung up. When he called back, he received the message that the phone was no longer in service. Well, I did have a robber with a gun to my head and my phone did shatter on the floor! He called back 11 times in a row before he stopped. I have to say of all the scammers I have toyed with, this was the most enjoyable experience. It made my month! I tied him up for an hour and forty-five minutes so that he could not scam someone else. Be Safe!
