It seems that they cycle through things every few months. I get the exact same message from different numbers with the same information. Not sure who they are, but if they send a letter I will be happy to deal with whoever it is. I will not return a random phone call.
Caller ID says this call is from 262-437-0354. This is the message I get: "This message is intended solely for <my name.> Due to your lack of response and blatant disregard to the numerous documented messages that have been left for your, you leave me very little choice but to move forward in this matter requiring us to take a next step with or without your cooperation. Although you may not find this to be within your best interest, I would strongly advise that either yourself or your attorney contact my office within the next 24 hours. If you wish to work this out on a voluntary basis, have your reference number available which is <6-digit number> when returning the call. We can be contacted at 1-877-252-0532."
Make sure the debt is not beyond the statute of limitations, be wary of phantom collectors, and you shouldshould also bewatch wary ofof collection agencies who may have you confused with a another person who happens to have the same name as you. Also watch out for Larry Crespos, or any neighboring denizen who is looking to profit off of some stolen mail and modern technical wonders such as Voip.
Wow. Just got another call from Caller ID 262-437-0354. This is the message I get: "This message is intended for <my name.> My name is Steven Krause (spelling??); at this point, understand that you have been mandated to return this call. Due to your lack of response, we will not be held liable for any circumstances that may arise. My number is 866-402-4043, case# <6-digit number,> office hours are 8am till 8pm Eastern Standard Time. Thank you."
