Recorded call concerning lowering credit card interest- no opportunity to be removed from their list. Not a company I do business with, so therefore a Do Not Call list violation.
The number just rang on my cell phone but no message was left. I thought calling cellphones for soliciting was illegal? Is there a place where we can go online and report this to an enforcement agency?
This number just called me. I listened to the recorded message and they stated they were calling to lower my credit card rate, as per the President's request for consumers to get lower rates.
I am on the Do Not Call list and I'm sure the President didn't tell them to call me to solicit. I would also like to know where we go to report this type of abuse.
The best thing to do is to get on the do not call list, both nationally and in your state. If the calls persist, report it to your state and US attorney general.
I got the same scam. I punched the requested number so as to mess with whoever answered (and get their contact info), but got "This mailbox is full". Obviously this is a robo-dialer scam. Caller ID says "N11Code WI, 1-262-711-4112". I called 1-262-711-4112 and got "Your call cannot be competed as dialed". So, then, this outfit is using false caller ID information, robo-dialing everybody (including cell phones, apparently), and scamming poor old ladies. Illegal, illegal, illegal.
The last commenter said get on the state and national no-call lists. I am on both. That doesn't stop a-holes like this.
As to where to report this, one must first get their contact information. The best way is to try to get a live person on line, lead them along, and ask for their contact info. By law they have to give you their name, address and phone number - but then these people don't care about the law. Anyway, if you can get this info forward it onto your state attorney general's office (they have forms to fill out) and the federal trade commission (https://complaints.donotcall.gov/complaint/complaintcheck.aspx?panel=2).
