Same as everyone else. They couldn't tell me which company issued the card & wanted the expiration date. HA! No freakin' way! Oh and I couldn't understand the woman either - heavy accent! 9/12/15
They called on 9-12-15 and asked if I wanted to lower the interest rate on my card, because I have been paying my payments on time. I said sure, to see where he was going with it, and he wanted to verify that it was my card carrying at least a 3500 dollar balance. It was not the card I thought he was calling about, so I asked him what company he was with. He replied he was with cardmember services, which is actually the name of the company for my online payments for my other card.
He then asked me for the expiration date on my card which at that point, it was very obviously a scam. So I just asked what bank the card was with that he was talking about, to see if they had any real information on me. He rattled off chase and 3 or 4 other names of banks that he said they dealt with. My card is through a community bank, and since they could not produce any information, I was satisfied that I could hang up at that point. I tried to be polite to end the conversation. I told him I would deal with my bank about my card, and he just kept trying other things, so I just ended up hanging up on him.
I know all these calls that show up as a number and state on my cell ID are robo scammers. I like to mess with them. A little payback for calling me in the 1st place. I know it won't stop them but it gives me something to do while I sit at home looking for a job. sometimes I yell or scream in the phone & hang up. I pretended to have a hysterical meltdown onetime. The guy kept saying sorry & hung up on me. Lately, I've just been waiting to hear a voice on the other end, politely say f--k off & hang up on them or I just send it straight to VM. it gets old after awhile.
