i got the same call but he had mentioned info that related to my place of work and i did end up giving out my address. He already knew the City i lived in. He asked about a purchase order number so i referred him to my purchasing manager. He did the home depot thing too.
Did the old" who is maintenance person again" bit. I told him I don't have one. He claimed he was here last week and that he works in the back. Then I sent him to the whse VM. He called back and said that he was told to asked to be paged when he called. Now I know the guy is full of it. I asked who he was. He sad Joe with Globel.Pretty sure he would have this persons mobile if they wanted to be paged.
Really hate deceptive sales practices.
I got the SAME shtick from this guy. He actually YELLED at me when I advised him there was no such department an no "in the back" area.
when I asked him to repeat and spell the name of his company he hung up.
