Said the same thing, I had a payday loan...that never existed...but it was so far back, I couldn't remember....threatened to serve me with papers also....Did some googling...and found out that payday loans, if they are sent to collections, will show up on your credit report...I have nothing in collections, so I have been scammed.. In the process of disputing the transaction with Capital One.
just recieved a call from this number - threatening serving papers for a payday loan from some place named alpine from 2008 - never heard of the company and seriously trying to collect something from almost 8 years ago!! I asked the woman for her name address so I would give it to my attorney. She refused. If this is such a real deal then give me the name of ur company address and phone number. I told her what she was doing was illegal and against the fair credit act she just keep saying good bye good bye - exactly! I told her I don't respond to threats from people like that over the phone!!!
I got the same callon 7/22/15 and would not give me any info on the company and there name just you owe a payday loan from a bank call great wester i wanted more info to give to my attorney and she laughed and i told her its a scam ,,, got hell!!!!!! She hung up after she said they serving me with papers i said good where u wanna meet

Got several calls from same number, Capital Recovery, threatening with court papers. Said I owed money from payday loan from 2008. After I asked for details so I could determine if legitimate, they got snippy with me. Also said I was being sued for fraud. Really? I asked for their address and of course they couldn't provide it. I talked to an attorney, said not to send one cent. He said even if I did owe, it's past PA statute of limitations. He said to document all calls from them. THEY can be sued for harassment. They have to provide information from creditor. Report these scumbags to the FTC.
