These callers are criminals. Criminals don't care if you're on the Do-Not-Call list. They're breaking the law anyway. The Do-Not-Call list does not get rid of telemarketing because some of them (like charities) are legal anyway, and the illegal callers don't care, but it does significantly reduce the number of telemarketing calls.
I have my answering machine set up to announce the number when it rings, so I don't have to get up to see if it's legit.
Write to your Congressman and Senators to get the "charities" exemption removed. Most of the money they collect goes to the telemarketers.
I keep getting calls from BURKE. I also am on the Do Not Call Registry and I haven't noticed that much reduction in nuisance calls. I am tired of solicitations!!!!!!!
