I answer the call and the caller said "Can I speak to the person that handles your Met-Ed Bill" - I said "That would be me" and they hung up on me. I have no clue what that was all about but I have put a blocker on my phone for this number so they can no longer get through.
You do know that is a horrible rate. Right now the Met Ed price to compare is 7.35, but last fall it was about 6.5. Prices always spike in the summer and winter. Locking in at over 7.00 for two years is a horrible idea. I normally shop every three months and can keep my prices between 4.5 and 5.5.
This is an unscrupulous company. They are cold calling to try and sell you a long term electric rate that is very high. It looks good compared to the current Met-Ed rate this winter, but they want to lock you in for two years. You can shop online with a quick search and beat their numbers and only be locked in for 3-6 months. In the spring the prices will come down at least 2 cents and you can take advantage of the market at that time. When I pushed him for details and explained how bad the deal was he insulted me and hung up.
