Received a call from this number around dinner time. A woman in what sounded like a call center immediately told me that she was calling because I was "a semifinalist in (their) $25,000 shopping spree." Yeah, right. I politely told her that I wasn't interested and she hung up the phone without saying goodbye, probably because she didn't want to waste her time on someone who wasn't going to drink the kool-aid.
Things like this are a SCAM. She never told me her name, her company's name, or even knew mine, not to mention the fact that I am 100% sure that I haven't entered any kind of shopping spree recently. Typically scam artists like this will try to tell you that you've won or are about to win a contest, and just need to pay a small "processing fee" or need to "verify" your SSN, etc. Don't be fooled, and don't give them any information.
