Caller asked if I knew a particular neighbor, then stated he had a subpoena for court for this neighbor. I told him I would take his information and consider delivering it but that I have had calls in the past like this in another neighborhood and did not think it right for a neighbor to deliver what he could by other means. (The other calls were for bad debts and I would not deliver. I believe the caller was lying about a subpoena because they can be mailed and if really important, by, I believe, the county constable's office.) He told me he didn't like my attitude and I told him he called me, I was busy and I didn't care what he thought . . . and that was where he hung up.
When I called back to get the company name I found I could not dial into the company.
This is an invasion of my neighbor's privacy. I am on the 'do-not-call' list. It was probably a debt collector and this practice of calling neighbors is downright creepy.
I received phone calls from this local Houston number about 5 or more times a day. One time I answered it and no response from this line. I think it is harassment 101.
