This is a scam. Many times when lawyers go after these "attorneys" or "process servers" by using the address they provide (which is bogus), it turns out to be a parking lot or an empty building. They spoof the number close to a legitimate attorney but are not. They use a threatening tone, they use some close call legal words that are scary but yet not legitimate. Any self respecting true lawyer would write you a debt validation letter explaining the debt and who you owe first. Then in writing hire a sheriff to find you. Many pay day loans are not state licensed to practice. So... please report scammers to your local attorney General!!

They left a message that started with a recorded voice stating my old name that I haven't used in years and a case number, then transitioned to a man with a Yorker accent telling me how he was going to contact the court and get my address and place of employment. Go for it, buddy, I don't owe anything.
I received the same as Amused but they give a relatives former name. I used to work at a collection agency. I suspect he has purchased old debt that is past the Statute of Limitations on collecting debt.
