Yes, I was also scammed by this person. He called himself Melvin Johnson. So charming, such a sweet voice. All of the red flags were there so I figured this out early on. Sadly, some women may loose money---others will be heartbroken. I appreciate your post---it verified everything I was thinking.
This person is presenting himself with a fake name. ALL men and women need to be aware of these situations. FIRST TIP: If a man or woman will not chat with you via skype or some sort of web cam, something is wrong. Even at times a scammer will meet with someone once or twice then disappear so this is not a difinitive way to know for sure.
I had my information on a dating website, this person built a relationship with me and earned my trust. He convinced me he was a person with a good job who had plenty of money. Even had me log into a fake bank account with another banks header to pretend they couldn't access their information from overseas. He did create a facebook account, had added several people on there but upon messaging them, none of them knew him personally and he had given them all the same story.
These people tell very convincing stories. They target people who they believe they can build their trust and reel them in. This person even sent me flowers and a teddy bear....yet nothing made sense upon him always being busy with work etc.
Rule of thumb, ask a scammer to do a certain command in a photo for you to know that it is them, such has hold up a certain number of fingers etc. IF YOU ARE GOING TO BELIEVE THEM ANYWAY.
Another red flag is that even though they give you a physical address, name and photo- THEY do steal a persons name, they do steal their old addresses etc. so it all seems legit if you don't know them.
They will ask many ways for funds, for whatever desperate situation they have gotten into. Western union.....etc etc.
DO NOT BE FOOLED, NOR CONVINCED by someone who asks for money. NEVER NEVER NEVER send anyone money unless you have their fingerprints on your stuff from meeting them or something lol.
