Just received a call from them also stating what Carol said. I hit 1 and talked to a person would not give me her name or company name. She stated it was inregard to a payday loan. I paid that loan four years ago. My lawyer informed me that I am a victim of a scam. I received the same info from the sheiff's dept. Same number that called Carol.
This number called our house recently 3 times, finally leaving a message about court action and to call 8888712563. Neither myself or my parents have debt or legal issues, and the call was automated with no company name or person wanted. Also, our caller ID listed the call coming from 281-547-7552 Tomball, TX. My mother looked up the 281 number and found out it comes from a company called Global Crossings Local Services, Inc.
I had the same exact experience as Carol.
This number called my cell today leaving a message to about a summons to appear in court. "please press 1 to be connected now or you can call our toll free number 888-871-2563". Sorry, but I don't have debt or legal issues, and the call was automated with no company name or person wanted.
Just got the same phone call but no one left a message.. If you don't recognize numbers then get the app Mr. Number and put it on your phones.. It will allow you to block unknow calls. Always look up the number before blocking on 800notes.com to be sure you aren't blocking someone important. There are a lot of scammers out there that go into your public domain on your credit report and find old information and make it current. Thus giving you a bad rep. Keep an eye on your report..
