gor text message to call this number for a "message alert" - don't know anyone or any company in TX so replied with "stop"

my son just got a text too. I called tmobile and because we are pre paid all they can tell me to do was reply with a text "STOP" and we should not hear from them again. of course it was hard to understand the c.s.r. - don't know what her native tounge was but it wasn't american english.

just received a message said that "you have a new credit union banking alert, call now free: 1-281-616-6450 and follow instructions"

I just got a message from that number also.  Says credit union banking alert.  Call the number and follow instructions.  Don't think so.

replying "STOP" is a bad idea. any reply is indirectly acknowledging existence of you and your number..
