Received a call from 281-617-2065. The caller, a man, asked to speak with Francisco Aguilar, someone who used to have my phone number and for whom we frequently get debt collection calls. After being told that no by that name was at this number, the caller said, "Well, how about if I can help you lower your electricity rates?" I told him not interested and hung up.
I never answer calls if I don't recognize the number. If it's a legitimate caller or a friend, they will leave a message. But, today when it rang it looked like it could be one of my friends since it was from my area code. So, I answered but got only silence on the other end. I asked twice to an avail and just hung up. Sometimes they are just checking to be sure it's a good number because these scam artists share their ill-gotten phone lists or sell them to each other. Talk about your scum of the earth.
