It's been well advertised that the IRS doesn't contact you by phone and leave a message, they use certified mail to make sure you receive their communication.

Exactly the same as Max Air, above. Computerized message says there is a tax fraud case against me. To keep from getting arrested or going to Federal Court, I needed to call this number. At first I was scared and almost called but thankfully stopped and looked the number up first. So glad I did.
I got a call from this number saying my last chance the irs is going to arrest me and that I am going to jail for fraud.
Really ! I know the IRS does not call and I am a good honest person who pays her taxes always and on time bring it on fraud people!
