Foreign caller from Houston Investigation legal matter, can't understand him. He also called my job and when I asked him (Roger) for fax #, he stated fax machine wasn't working - next asked for email address, he hung up. I applied for some payday loans but haven't received any - these crazy people are coming out of the woodwork. My sister is an attorney I have her looking into. There is no info on their #, definitely not a legitimate company. I filed report with FTC.
I received a phone call from the name David Hernandez, saying I have outstanding cash advance by the Co " Cash Advance USA. And treating to sue me. I told the guy u got the wrong person u messing w/ bec I don't owed no cash advance. And If I have 1 I already pay them off 3 months ago. He still trying to pursuit it that I do. I ask how much? He said $680 something. But I can pay it off by purchasing "Green Dot Money 14 digit paper card." As soon he said that, I told him he is "Scammer" and stop calling me. I told him to send me the paper work via email. He hang up.. But I called him back and never answer his phone.. Like I said this is a a a scam..
I just got a call from a person named Mark Lanier who claims to be an attorney. When I asked him for the state he is legally practicing in he said Houston, TX, then when I asked him for his Texas Bar Association ID number, he wanted to know "who the hell" I was to be asking these questions. I told him I was a victim of a scam and I was going to call the Texas Bar Association and find out who he is and report him as a scammer. He told me to "come to the courthouse". After several phone calls back and forth, I found out that CashNetUSA is the loan company he is "representing". Funny, I have never accepted a loan from those people. So, he is about to get reported to the Texas Bar Association, and I am going to call CashNetUSA and file a complaint with them..
I received 4 calls threatening to call my job, have me arrested and to further pursue legal action against me. I have NOT taken out any loans or cash advances online but was stupid enough to browse the sites looking for just that.

Yeah, my caller was named James Brown. All with heavy Chinese accents. Had others named Joe Smith and other non-foreign names. I, too applied for some loans, but never took them out. This last call was telling me my SS# was being investigated for fraud and i better call back...said they were from the "law firm." Then wish me a blessed day! I had gotten some calls from them earlier, but with a different tone. Do these people really think we will call them back? The number they call from is not valid. They made up a phone number using my same area code to look valid. Have to give them an "A" for ingenuity!
