did not leave a message but if I am not wrong about this in Texas there is no HWY Patrol it is called Texas Dept. of Public Safety.
I feel this is one of those scams they were talking about on TV the other night. This time of the year is when the scumbags start calling. PLEASE DON'T FALL FOR ANY OF THIS!!!!!!!!!
Hey Mad Dog, I completely agree!!! I'm a TX'n, too. and this TX Hwy Patrol usually call around EVERY big Federal holiday, especially Memorial Day, Veteran's Day, Labor Day, etc. with a scripted message that involves begging for money for fallen officers, some preventive drug abuse program for kids, improving state, national, border etc., security. DON'T FALL FOR IT! I check with my local officers, firefighters and other first responders and they have no role in or support this organization. Just got my latest call about 20 min ago on 31 Aug 2010, which I did not answer. I guess this is the Labor Day nuisance call.

There is a Texas Highway Patrol and you can verify that through the DPS website. They are responsble for more rural areas of Texas and that is why you may not be familar with them.
