This is so scandalous.. This just happened to me (a single mother with a toddler looking to start over in life). I am in Temecula and there is this 3bdrm 2bth with identical email as listed below with the others... Someone needs to notify somebody who can put a stop to this horrible woman!!! She is screwing with peoples livelihoods!!!!
SCAM !! This is the phone number for a (stupid) scam artist plying her scam on the Chicago Craigslist site. I am the listing agent for a rental property (listed at $1,4000). She identifies herself as Laura Branin (fake name, surely) and is presenting herself as the owner and asking $800 per month for the same rental listing.
Tells the interested parties that she's laid up in a hospital in CO, and can't get them into the home. Insists that they only call or text her phone number. Suggests they look at it from the outside and then will likely ask for the first month's rent, security deposit, and pet deposit (her email is pasted below). The Craigslist ad has been removed, but no telling where else she's popping up these con games. Idiot. Bottom line; Buyer beware! Here's her answer to a legitimate inquiry on the ad:

deposit and $800 for the monthly rent,$80 for the pet deposit,its 2

Here's an idea. Flood this number with calls and texts. Let her know she's been called out, and there's a bunch of honest folks who'd love to meet her (him?) personally.
Wow, it's happening in Broken Arrow OK. I was had a feeling it was a scam but I contacted the number anyway. Same story about being laid up in the hospital. I was pissed when I realized what she was doing! I told her about how sentive my situation was and I really was hoping for a break for my son and I. I also told her I hope she [***] sleeps well at night for what she tried to do.
So I found a house on craigslist out in buckeye Az, just posted yesterday for 600 a month. i responded with an email and they responded with a txt from this number and thought I'd see what popped up when googling it. Well this page popped up and sure enough nothing good. Any ways still waiting for another reply... Thx for posting!! Definitely on the look out now

The same thing just happened to me on the Jackson craigslist site. But she identified herself as Amanda L Curtis...she said she had an accident some weeks ago that affected her back bone and hearings and that shes getting treatment and preparing for her surgery. Then she told me to western union the money to her brothers house. she said his name is Jamie Rounds Address:314 Wood ave SE Nile's, OH..That's when i new it was a scam. so i called the company that was actually renting the house out and asked what the owners name is and they said she has scammed many people and that she wasn't the owner..To bad i wasn't that dumb to actually western union her money.
