you should all call back, i did and she broke the law and im gonna file a lawsuit 1,000$ per FDCPA violation and she made about 5 with in my first call and 2 the second call...
This is definitely a company that tasks extremeley aggressive measures with old debts others sold off. As far as I know, it could be just one woman in an office somewhere. The threats and insinuations that this is sme sort of law enforcement action are illegal. Document all such calls and contact an attorney who handles these matters - you might be able to sue for 1500$ for every call!
Sister and Father received a call from this number on 'my' alleged debt owed to the Check Fraud Unit - reported the lady was extremely rude requesting information from them on me. I called back, I must admit I was a bit startled by their reaction to the call. She claimed I owed an internet pay-day loan (which I don't); she also tried to verify my Social Security # - but she was way off....at that time I decided to hang up. What I mostly found odd, was that when she answered it sounded like she was in a room by herself....scam is what comes to my head.
calls my house and work phone nonstop. claims she is with check enformence for fraudlant checks. threatens to arrest me and my place of employment. i need these fraudlant calls to stop. they are causing trouble and embarrsment for me at work.
She actually called me and then sent out an email to me.....I asked for a letter sent to my home to state that I supposedly owe this CHECK FRAUD issue and her statement was "we only do emails not letters via mail" which I thought was odd.....then is wanted me to use my credit or debit card each month to pay off this debt from 2011 which is now 2014. Her name was Jennifer Rapp....I will NOT give her any info and I requested a letter to my home claiming that I owe this money if that is the case.....anyone go thru this? This is the email she sent me..........I have been trying to reach you with regards to an item that was returned from your bank. It is very important that you contact me when you get this message.
