I got a phone call from this number today - it was a man with a very thick Indian accent (Azirreth, Azirail?) who was very hard to understand. He wanted my social security number and date of birth so he could run a "background check" on me for a hot job that needed someone to start immediately for UPS in a town called Brook, NJ. Unfortunately, there is no such town in NJ and I would never give out that information to some guy who just called me out of the blue and claims to have my resume in hand. He wanted to send me an e-mail and get me to agree to a background check by replying and stating I AGREE in the e-mail and I told him thanks, but no.
Never heard of an employer doing background checks before they conduct any interviews. Methinks this is a scam. I tried to check the company out online and they *seem* legit, but I don't give that info out to anyone unless I'm in the employer's office in HR and filling out a job application.
I just went back into my e-mail to find his message and it's gone. I guess he withdrew it or unsent it, which is a bit scary and just confirms my opinion that it was a scam.
I too just got this call - - - twice - - and he too left a voice mail telling me he was calling from UPS about an Administrative Assistant job I had applied for in Phoenix. WHAT A SCAM!!! So glad I was wise enough to check the phone number first and found this scam before I called him back. LOSERS!!!
