This was a very long hard sell sales pitch from a very nice girl.  She was promoting the american cancer fund.  When I told her that I do not give to people over the phone she offered to mail it to me.  

These people miss the point.  Once you give to one, you get put on what I call the sucker list and it gets sold to all the companies.  I gave once many years ago over the phone and after that for several years the calls all began with "We appreciate your giving in the past...." and I got that from the original company that I gave to and each and everyone of them after that.  They probably think that you don't know whether you gave or not.  It took several years and alot of telemarketers unsuccessful calls to get off that sucker list.  Between that and blocking all calls, I don't get many calls.

Also alot of these companies who hire these companies may only get 10% of the donation, I think we all know that.  So don't encourage them.  Give from the heart and give unsolicitied.

This is a charity so the do not call list does not apply.  However, I will block them.
