An indian guy called this morning asking for someone who has nothing to do with the IT department. He said he was calling from CTO informer. These people call non stop all day asking for different people, most of who are not employed with the company any longer.
A man from this number called and said he was calling from the University of Arizona and is doing a study on SAP. He asked if I could provide a name of someone who could help him out with this. I informed him that I will not give any information out and that unless he provided me a name I am unable to transfer. Funny enough, he provided me with two names. Obviously he was phishing for info. I WILL NOT transfer these ridiculous calls. I told him that they were not available.
Funny enough this same number called while I was writing the above call. This time it was an indian guy named Melvin. He gave me the EXACT same line of crap but could not provide any names. I gave him our junk email and told him that we will call him if we are interested in speaking with him. Geez!
I HIGHLY DOUBT these are college kids. Most likely its an overseas scam. The number comes up as a Houston number but they are calling from Arizona??? I Call BULL!
Called and asked to speak to our operations manager. "Sheryl" (had a thick middle eastern accent) was calling on behalf of Benefit Mall. Put her on hold to research the company and she hung up. Must have not been important
Male (no name) called asking for our owner like they were old buddies. I said he wasn't in the office and asked if anyone else could help. He said whoever handled finance...that's me. So I asked what I could do for him, he said he wanted to discuss risk management, I asked him to be more specific, he said "Pfft, risk management, that's about as specific as it gets". I asked what, SPECIFICALLY, he needed but got no response...guess he hung up. Caller ID says Unknown Name,
