This is just a SCAM to see if you answer the telephone then their Computer records your number as "being active" so that they can bother you for the rest of your life.
Definitely a collection agency. West Asset Management. Called me looking for Julio __________ . Called the number back, explaining that I was not Julio and could not help them. Asked them to remove my number (which I recently acquired, BTW) from their database.
My son's cell phone rang - its a trac fone - fairly new. We're getting collection calls like crazy to this number FROM this number. They said they would take us off the call list we'll see.
Received a phone call on my Cell phone from a company I have NO associations with. Each time the message was for this unknown party to return a call to 1-888-999-2153
5/6/08: "Nichole" called and asked for an unknown party. I advised to take my phone number off their list and after she said something sarcastic, the phone was disconnected.
I called back and spoke with "Sam Williams" who assured me the phone number would be taken off the list"
5/7/08: "Walter" from same company calls again leaving a message for same unknown party. Again I call back and ask for "Sam Williams" who was on another line so this time I explain to "Jennifer Verven" that my phone number was still on the list, she states Sam probably "forgot to push the right button" now, she explains that the phone number will come off within 24 hours. Lets see.
