I consider this a call a serious threat to my well being. The federal government does not operate like this. These people need to be exposed immediately
I got a call from this number where a recorded computer like voice left a message ".... pending your serious attention. Ignoring this will be an intentional second attempt to avoid initial appearance before magistrate, judge or a grand jury for a federal criminal offense. This is the final attempt to reach you. To resolve this issue immediately and to speak with a federal agent, the department's call back number is 301-242-0012." This is a scam. I have heard we can file a lawsuit against the people behind this number since they are referring to a "federal" organization. Anyone in?
Good luck serving them in India or Pakistan, having a hearing, and then collecting.
IRS Scam:
The IRS does not need to sue anyone. They send you first class letters delivered by the Post Office. Several of them. Ignore those, and they then send certified letters that you need to sign for. Again delivered by the Post Office. Ignore those and they simply freeze your bank accounts and anything else you own. If they can do that, then why would they bother with a court case that might take them years before they get in front of a judge? They also do not bother arresting people for a few thousand dollars for the same reasons I have already given.

You have to find them first. There's a billion people in India and 180 million in Pakistan. Call blocker is your best bet. Don't pick up on call numbers you don't recognize. Occasionally US based money mules are arrested, but that's about it.
