they want me to switch from BGE to their electric.  say i can save 10% on electric.  but i have to "enroll.  the lady was swift and aggressive and when i told her to send me info in the mail she hung up on me.  sounds like a scam.

They tried to con my 70 year old father into switching, they said they where "BGE" . He was soo confused he was just about to say yes when I walked in the house from work. I told him to hang up. Why would I want to lock into a rate when BGE rates are going lower and lower.. Might as well wait!

i GET CALLS FROM THIS NUMBER ALL THE TIME.  I USUALLY DO NOT ANSWER AND THEY DO NOT LEAVE A MESSAGE.  THIS TIME I GOT THE ABOVE.  THIS IS SCARY.

HATE Telemarketers
Saw the number-no name but recognized it as a repeat annoyer.I'm glad to to know it's yet another call from an electric co. I've told them I'm not interested and told BGE to stop asking if I want one of those boxes "to save me money" aka give them power over distribution.They never do anything unless it benefits them first. The only message on answering machine was a long Hiiiiiiii.
So much for the do not call list. It's my understanding anyone you have ever deal with is exempt from it even if you are no longer a client, i.e. credit card companies, banks etc. So they have a free pass to harass forever and there's little chance unless one is fortunate enough to be off the grid, that one is not an electric co. customer so we are at their mercy.  I'll have my air horn or whistle ready next time.

Got a call from this # today, 07/11/11. Person said his name is Kevin & he works for Public Service Commission in MD. He said back in 2001 they noted on peoples BGE bills that they could get the lower rate if these people had their permission. It did not make sense what he was saying to me. He kept saying "why don't you want to save money"? He said I would save 10% if I confirmed my information. I said "why don't you confirm my info. to me, I know my info., & besides you called me & you didn't even know my name"! This guy wanted me to give him my name, address, & BGE account #. The more I asked him for a # to call him back after I do research, he got an attitude & became pushy. I finally hung up. I called the # back & after being on hold w/ the automated system, I hung up. The automated system say they are the enrollment center for NexGen, working for public power. I don't know if I spelled NexGen correct. I called back, this time entering the extension Kevin gave me, & a lady named Tamara answered. I hung up. Maybe I will try again later.
