Damn pushy people apparently doing a survey for UCLA on health issues. I know a bit about doing surveys. This one is targeted and they are not telling the whole story. It is being done by a company, Westat inc, a company out of MD. they will ask to talk to different household members until they get the demographic they want. Give personal information at your own risk.
The is research company and they are legit. They are hired by private companies, universities and the government to conduct research usually for a targeted demographic. Some of their work/projects involve phone surveys. They are not a telemarketer; your personal information are kept confidential.
for the curious I received a call from that number just a few minutes ago. It concerns a research project into cancer, by an entity in Rockville, MD known as West Stat. It's government funded and legitimate. It covers a time period of ten years or more. No need to be alarmed it's not a terrorist organization, unless you fear good old Uncle Sam.All I had to do is put the phone number into google and I got the answer in a few seconds.
