Received 3 of the exact messages on my voicemail yesterday. It stated that my case was time sensitive and I should call them immediately before the IRS takes action on me. I have NO IDEA who called me. Would really like them to leave me alone.
Same here, appears to be an IRS scam. Called stating I was being sued by the IRS and told me I need a lawyer. Man sounded as though calling from India. Provided the following information:

I asked why I hadn't recv'd a certified letter. He stated they tried to provide one on Jan 12th and Feb 28th - I work from home so doubt I missed those attempts. When I pressed we lost connection - imagine that.
He then called me back in 10 mins and said he wanted to read me the charges so they could proceed with prosecution. I told him to get me the certified letter and hung up.
Three phone calls yesterday and when I talked to the alleged David Acosta, Badge ID 953H69C from the IC IRS division today, he also told me I was being prosecuted and charged with tax evasion among other charges. I allegedly owed $3,017.00 to the IRS and one of the conditions to settle this and a last and one time opportunity was an "out of court restitution". This required the payment to be made in cash today to an account and bank that he was going to provide once I had withdrawn the cash and called him back. These scammers are professionals, they have you go to the real IRS and DOJ sites and are very familiar with the menus and prompts and if they are providing real and legit information. It seems too they target individuals who have recently been audited by the IRS and more vulnerable to an IRS scams. Please keep an eye for this number too (800) 829-1040 and report this to www.TIGTA.gov for which there is a link on the IRS site.
