next time i get the call from this # i will answer with "US dept. of homeland security" i think this is people overseas trying to track or hack americans
They called me the other day, also, telling me that they needed to fix a problem with my Windows OS, and that they were from Microsoft. The guy asked for my credit card number twice, and I refused, tried to keep him talking to get more info, and he told me that I had several issues with my software that they needed to fix from a remote computer. I told them that my mother was a certified Microsoft technician and if my computer had any problems she would have already fixed them. They simply said "Oh sorry" and hung up.
