Called our landline a little before 11 this morning, said they were with AmVets and told me I had pledged a donation on August 4 but that they hadn't heard anything back from me. I told them I never pledge anything over the phone (our family policy) and they told me I had asked for a form to be sent to my home (possibly true but I don't remember precisely) so as to send $10 back. I told them I never promised any amount of money and I definitely would not have done that over the phone, either. The woman said they could pull up the conversation as they record every call. At that point I had my cellphone to my ear in my other hand (AmVets had called me when I was on hold). I told her as such, firmly thanked her and hung up. They haven't tried to contact me since.
