We got a call this morning from this number. The caller left a long voice message in very broken English. Her accent so bad that Comcast voice mail could not accurately record the message. I got something about legal department and they only asked for someone by first name. It also sounded like there was something about labor bartor or legal bartor. If this was a legit call why isn't someone calling that can be clearly understood? I am so frigging sick and tired of BS phone calls If they were legit the caller ID would have their business name. I think this is just another phone scam , just one in the jillion or so out there. We are both disabled, my husband in particular is a disabled Veteran and all our sources of income are un collectable under the law. Besides we have no business dealings in Maryland.
Listened to the phone message a couple times trying to understand what the person said on the voice message. She has "very" poor English and from something she said I am pretty sure this call is bogus and may originate overseas even though it has a Maryland prefix supposedly. She referred to "wage labor barter". Nobody in this country refers to wage issues as bartering. We won't call this number back. It's either a wrong number or more likely nothing more than a scam.
Received about twenty calls in a row from this number. The caller identified as David ID No.: 11498-from Dept of Legal Affairs. If you call back the number, you only receive a voice message. I left two messages informing Mr. David that not only am I aware of the scam he is trying so hard to pull on my 20 year old daughter but the internet is well aware. What I cannot understand is how people get away with this????????????????????????????????????????? ONLY IN AMERICA.
Just got a phone call from "Department of Legal Affairs" for the IRS, stating I am going to jail for 6 months for not paying my $11,000 in taxes. I've NEVER made enough in my life to even qualify to file taxes (under $10,5/yr), so I FREAKED out. Upon discussing it with my roommate, called back, answered different name, "David William" answered, did not ask my name, SSN, anything, said "hi Zach". He demanded I pay $1,000 to stop the police from coming and picking me up. I said IF your the IRS, you can get into my bank w/o my information, he said "I'm calling the police", I said "so am I" hung up and dialed the local police, to file a report.
the thing is, 1) i've never made enough $$ to even file, or ever had taxes taken out, I work for dialed company (I'm disabled) 2) if the IRS wanted my bank info they can get it on their own w/o me. 3) they did not verify ANY info besides telling me who they work for, refused to give address or any verifiable information. don't freak out folks, its a scam!
