It's a call center for Pepco, I received a call about the voluntary Energy Wise Rewards program and basically just asking did I know about it because technicians will be in my area. They told me what the device was how it worked and how its just for emergencies. They said it was no obligations so I went for it. Looked it up online and all the info stated in the call was online. Also found out it only was activated once this year. So factual none the less. Everyone should understand they're call centers for huge companies, it's not a scam. For the record I received my bill credits.
Thought it was a scam upon recieveing the call. Turned out to be a real program lol. Still was a lil skeptical after I did happen to find the Pepco site where all the info is (PEPCO.com/rewards). Calm your tits, people. Their just doing their job.
Got a call last week from a young lady she claimed to be from pepco energy wise department. She went on to tell me about a voluntary program that they have to help save electricity if there is a emergency even because of a lot of electricity being used. She informed me that it is just a small grey box that will be placed next to the a/c unit and they will notify me before even using it. And for my participation I will be rewarded with $80 my first year in the program so I said Hey why not? I got installed a few days ago and everything seems fine to me. She also gave me the website to review the information for myself.
the caller said that they were from Pepco (our power company) and had some program they were advertising. I don't remember exactly what, but it sounds familiar to the things described above. I had heard of a Pepco scam so I told them I was not interested. Just said "No", politely, until they hung up.
