same issue -- person called and asked for me, as soon as I verified, he hung up. is this a way to collect cell numbers and sell them? good grief, gotta go back to the donotcall website yet again (although I'm not even sure this works).
Called once - hung up when i answered.... Called back... Asked for our owner - asked if i could take a message they said yes - my name is james reece from the district attorneys off....Hung up! It was an indian guy - probably a fake name etc..... Called # back and it was not in service.......
Caller ID was mayland, calling from 301-496-8628. Indian accent speaking man was rude attitude and asked to contact ****(they knew my brother name exactly)...I asked what is your company but he did not want to tell his company. He told me he need to talk ****(my brother) for CITI BANK matter. I asked his phone number and name so my ***brother to call him back. BUT he did not want to leave...This is scam...be careful!!!. I told him "never call us again" and hung up.
This number called my business and said that they were from the District Attorney's office. (Gave he name Marshall) When the receptionist asked for info to leave me a message, they claimed I had their number and hung up.
Called our business heavy middle eastern accent very rude insisting to talk to a person working here said he had a delivery for them did not know sex of person asking for wanting to know address of business for delivery and if person was working here or at home and that address of course I gave no information. He said he had a "floral fantasy" delivery wouldn't give his name or company name when I asked if we could call him back he hung up. He was very rude yelling at me that he'd called 11 times which he had not. The weirdest part is he was asking for the wife of an employee - she's never worked here.
I'm getting calls from this number, and other spoofed numbers MULTIPLE times a day. There are three separate people, all with Indian accents, asking me to verify the names/phone numbers of administrators/department heads in my company. All the names they ask about are visible on our website, so I'm guessing they are trying to verify phone numbers to sell as a telemarketing list.
Once I stopped answering that number, the same three voices started calling from two other spoofed numbers, 925-808-7506, and 317-453-4239. They alternate that with spoofing internal extension numbers, going through them in numerical order. And occasionally they block their number to show "Unknown." But it's always the same three people.
