I keep getting calls from this company/person. I have no idea what they want and I'm not calling them back. I do not have any outstanding medical bills and have not received any paper correspondence. The person is Hispanic that keeps call me (Maria Lopez) and sometimes yawns on the message. I got 3 calls (one after the other) on Dec. 28 and 30.
If they talked to you or left a message, that is first contact. They are now required to do the following by law. At that point, if you receive the letter send them a debt validation letter by certified, return receipt mail and make them prove that you owe the debt.
Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt. It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes. The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.

i received a call twice from this number and they are very rude. They call asking for my mother who passed away in March this year. This time when I said that and asked what the nature of his business is, he said to me your mother was a grown woman and why would I disclose to you the nature of my call. He said it in a very condescending voice. So i asked him not to be condescending and then loudly he accused me of cursing at him. Which I was not. He hung up on me. He did not address what company he was calling from and would not tell me.
