They do claim they are from the IRS and the IRS is going to take action against you...Let me tell you...THEY ARE SCAMMERS AND LIARS! I called back and when I did, I told the guy "from India" that I would be recording the line and the conversation and he called me a "Bit--" and then said " F-you - F-you - F-you" and hung up on me! They are most definitely NOT the IRS!
They called me and tried to scare me about owing some money to the IRS and jail time etc. It was scary at first but when I investigated further they said they were going to freeze my bank accounts.
These fools left three recorded voice messages on my answering machine yesterday within a 4 hour period. They claim to be the IRS and I need to call them back IMMEDIATELY! They're a bunch of hustlers trying to part hard working people from their money. Don't fall for it, don't call them back and don't talk to them. The IRS notifies people via mail, not phone. Scammers are the lowest form of life out there.
