Be aware this is a scam call if you received phone call from 301-591-1727!
I was called by this number (301-591-1727, called himself Agent #261) to sell me 19.99 per month direct TV for 2 years contract deal with 8 Chinese channels plus 130 English channels. My wife feels that it is too good to be true. When I received call again, the manage (called himself Andy) asked my SSN# and then further asked my credit card number. I gave him my SSN#, but refused to give my credit card number. He then asked my wife to call Direct TV headquarter 301-591-1727 to ask why both numbers are needed. The number is exactly the same number as I received the very first time.
i have same experience about 301-591-1727, sometimes they use blocked number first to call. Too bad I believed his cheeting $19.99 monthly for 2 year and signed up DirectTV since Time Warner and Dish Network had similar deal last year. I only knew my actually bill $29.99 monthly first year and $44.99 monthly 2nd year after first bill statement which is 5th day after installation. I called DirectTV on that day to cancel the service but was informed they will charge $480 if I do that. I closed my credit card acount also on the same day. I already reported this to FTC (Federal Trade Commision). Please report to FTC too.
I also noticed that they created DirectTV online account for me using my personal information without my knowledge and permission. They use some email account for me which is not my email at all!!! That is why I don't know what else they will do on my behalf. I have to close my credit card first to protect myself.
Be very careful these people wants both your social security number and credit card number. I insisted that I cannot give social security number so he only got my credit card number. The agent number is #151 Mr. Liu.
