I think it was fake. I believe he said "Safe Energy" and I declined my interest. Called WashingtonGas who didn't have a record of this phone number nor the name of this company. I could have misunderstood him, though.
Called saying I was entitled to a 10% discount since I used gas to heat my home. Wanted my gas account number, was very insistent. Would not say who he worked for other than The Gas Supplier. I gave him nothing and he hung up. Heavy foreign accent

The caller was a foreigner and you could hear many other people in the background like a call center. I've seen this number many times on my caller I.D. so this time I decided to answer the phone. He asked for a deceased relative of mine. I asked him, "Who is this, and what is this all about?" He said, "Washington Gas, O.K?" I told him, "No, you're NOT Washington Gas -- not with an attitude like THAT, and No -- it's is NOT 'O.K." I told him to do something to himself and "Don't ever call here again" and then I immediately hung up.
